She was born and raised in Michigan and is a Michigan State Alumnus. After pursuing a degree in Hospitality Business with a minor in Spanish, she spent the last ten years working in the events, catering, and restaurant sectors of the industry. Three years ago, Leah made the trek to Traverse City to immerse herself in the area’s wine scene and learn about the region’s viticulture working at a winery. She decided to pivot her career from hospitality to gain experience on the other side of the food and beverage industry.
Leah comes from a large family which is, and always will be, a huge part of her life. She is the sixth child out of eight and while she does not have kids herself, she is a mom to a rambunctious cat, Paquito. One of her main life goals is to be the ‘Fun Aunt’ to her nieces and nephews. She developed a passion for the Latino culture during a semester abroad in Ecuador. This also sparked a never-ending travel bug. She enjoys exploring local trails and adventuring on the weekends to scratch the itch between trips.
This spring, Leah will be foraging for morel mushrooms in her spare time and has plans to cultivate fruits and vegetables as a novice gardener. You’ll also probably catch her enjoying a glass of sparkling wine, hiking or running around local trails, or testing out a new recipe in the kitchen. She is thrilled to be a part of the DC Norris North America team and looks forward to a successful future as the company continues to grow.
