DC Norris North America Celebrates 10 Years of Growth, Grit, and Getting It Done

a white banner with a golden number 10 on it. The banner reads "DC Norris North America 10 Years in Business"May 2025 marks a major milestone for DC Norris North America: 10 years in service of the industrial food processing industry across the U.S. and Canada. What began as a commitment to bring world-class food processing equipment to North American manufacturers has grown into a decade of progress and partnerships thanks to the persistence of a committed team and a portfolio of the world’s best equipment.

Over the last decade, DC Norris North America has weathered supply chain disruptions, labor shortages, regulatory shifts, and a global pandemic. Still, it has remained steady in its purpose: to be the partner the nation’s largest food brands rely on when they need processing expertise, service, and equipment. DC Norris North America’s agility and deep technical knowledge have helped its customers adapt to change and keep production moving, regardless of the changes in the landscape.

Built on Relationships, Backed by Results

To date, DC Norris North America has completed over 130 projects in North America, valued collectively at over $40 million. These projects span soup and sauce manufacturing, ready meals, pet food, plant-based proteins, and more, helping customers achieve higher efficiency, improved product quality, and food safety at scale.

Perhaps a truer testament to what makes DC Norris North America a success is that nearly one-third of the company’s projects come from repeat clients. That trust and loyalty are what ground the business and are evident in its daily operations. Repeat business in a challenging and competitive industry is proof of the company’s equipment integrity and unmatched expertise.

A Decade in the Making

When DC Norris North America first opened its doors, it was just one employee—Dick Smith, who now serves as President. A seasoned expert in food processing systems with decades of global experience and a passionate advocate for customer service, Smith laid the foundation for what the company has become today.

DickSmith, DCNorris North America - President“I started this business with a laptop and a deep belief in what we could bring to the North American food industry,” said Smith. “Ten years later, it’s been incredible to watch that belief turn into real impact. I’m proud of the team we’ve built and the clients we’ve helped grow.”

From a solo operation to a company with a 2,500-square-foot office and 5,000-square-foot warehouse, DC Norris North America now employs a deliberately agile team of three full-time staff and two part-time contractors. The Traverse City, Michigan-based warehouse is well-stocked with parts replenished daily, supporting equipment across the continent with rapid service and delivery.

Looking Ahead

As a major contributor to the global DC Norris Group, DC Norris North America remains committed to the same values that have defined it since day one: equipment excellence, unmatched expertise, and customer-first thinking.

DC Norris North America is celebrating its first decade with gratitude for the company’s clients, its committed team, and the industry partners who have helped the business grow. But the company isn’t slowing down. Quite the opposite, as they’re on the cusp of announcing exciting new partnerships that will further expand the business’s equipment portfolio.

As food manufacturing continues to evolve, so will DC Norris North America, exploring smarter automation, energy efficiency, and custom-engineered solutions for the challenges our customers face today and tomorrow.

Smith proudly extends the gratitude he and his team share, “To everyone who’s been a part of the journey: thank you. Here’s to the next ten.”
