Food Processing Equipment Engineering

Engineering Services for Food Manufacturers
Building a food production line that performs starts long before the first piece of equipment arrives at your facility. DC Norris North America works with food manufacturers across the US and Canada through every phase of the engineering process: process design, equipment sourcing, system integration, and handover. Whether you are planning a new facility, expanding capacity, or rethinking an underperforming line, this is where that conversation starts.
We bring more than 50 years of global food processing experience to every engagement, along with direct, exclusive access to the manufacturers we represent. That means you work with one accountable team from the first consultation through commissioning, without the coordination overhead of managing multiple vendors.
What Our Engineering Services Cover:
Every engagement begins with your production goals. Our engineers work to fully understand your recipes, throughput requirements, facility constraints, and future growth plans before recommending any equipment. The output is a process design built around your operation, not a catalog selection dressed up as a solution.
DC Norris North America is the exclusive US and Canadian distributor for the manufacturers in our portfolio. That direct relationship means faster access, accurate specifications, and the ability to direct custom manufacturing when standard configurations don’t fit your requirements. We source equipment that is right for your processes, recipes, and operational constraints.
Our engineers account for your existing infrastructure from the beginning of the design process, ensuring that new systems work with what is already in place. Compatibility, utilities, sequencing, and control integration are all addressed before installation begins, not after.
When standard equipment won’t meet your process requirements, we design and contract the manufacturing of custom solutions through the DC Norris Group. Our fabrication capabilities extend to bespoke process kettles, cook-chill systems, sous vide installations, and complete turnkey production lines, all engineered to sanitary design standards appropriate for food manufacturing environments.
Engineering and commissioning are connected at DC Norris North America. The team that designs and sources your equipment is directly connected to the team that commissions it. That continuity eliminates translation errors and keeps accountability in one place from start to finish. Learn more about our commissioning service.
Who We Work With
Our engineering clients are typically high-volume prepared food manufacturers producing soups, sauces, ready meals, dressings, meat and poultry products, confections, fresh pet food, and beverages across the US and Canada. If your operation demands precision, throughput, and the ability to scale without compromising product integrity, we’re built for you.
DC Norris North America has engineered systems for some of the world’s largest food production operations. That depth of experience travels with us to every project.

OUR PROCESS:
Step 1: Consultation
We start by listening. Our engineers conduct an in-depth review of your production requirements, challenges, and objectives. Batch size, product type, ingredients, cooking method, cooling requirements, packaging constraints, existing equipment: all of it informs what comes next.
Step 2: Design
With your requirements clearly defined, we develop a process design that maps equipment selection to production outcomes. Designs are built to scale, accounting for where your operation is today and where your plan for it to go in the future.
Step 3: Sourcing & Coordination
We leverage our direct manufacturer relationships to source equipment to specification. Where standard equipment does not meet your requirements, we coordinate custom manufacturing through our brand partners. You deal with one point of contact throughout.
Step 4: Integration & Handover
Equipment is delivered, integrated into your facility, and commissioned by our team. We do not consider an engagement complete until the system is running to specification and your operators are trained and confident.
